A teenager sought by Clarksville Police since he escaped from a juvenile detention facility in April was arrested Thursday night in Oak Grove.
Police in Clarksville say 16-year old Tai Harrell was arrested by Oak Grove Police at a residence on Tyler Street. He had been observed driving a vehicle to that home by police performing surveillance of that area, according to a news release.
Harrell had allegedly been stealing money and vehicles while at-large, preying on cars left unlocked with the keys inside. The pickup he stole at the time of his escape was recovered at an apartment complex, but the gun that had been left inside has not been found.
Clarksville Police, Oak Grove Police, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and other agencies participated in the search for Harrell since his escape.
Police say there are 26 juvenile petitions on file against Harrell and he has been detained at a facility in Kentucky. He will appear in Christian County Juvenile Court on Tuesday.
