Baseball: Union County scored 10 times in the bottom of the sixth inning to down Hopkinsville 10-1. The Tigers led all the way until the big inning by the Braves. Blake Balthrop had two of Hopkinsville’s five hits with starter Tim Cansler taking the pitching loss.The Tigers conclude the regular season 17-12 and face host University Heights in the semifinals of the 8th district baseball tournament Monday night at Chris Simmons Field.
Softball: Fourth ranked Christian County held off a late rally and edged Lafayette 6-5 in Lexington on Friday. Tyler Shemwell went 2-3 with a home run as the Lady Colonels were held to just four hits. Hannah Sumner picked up the pitching win for Christian County who improved to 26-6.
