A University Heights Academy graduate and former teacher and coach at the school has been hired as an assistant superintendent in the Hopkins County School System.
Marty Cline has been serving as district director of secondary instruction and his promotion becomes effective July 1st.
Cline has a 22-year career in education, which includes being a teacher and basketball coach at Madisonville North Hopkins High School and UHA. He served as Madisonville’s assistant principal before accepting a central office position five years ago.
He graduated from UHA and was a senior point guard on the 1992 state championship basketball team. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Morehead State University and a master’s degree at Murray State.
West Broadway Elementary School Principal Amy Smith was also promoted to assistant superintendent. She has a 24-year career in education, including time in the classroom and in the central office.
