Four out of state residents were arrested by Hopkinsville Police Monday afternoon on forgery charges.

Personnel at Tom’s Family Pharmacy called ECC about 1 p.m. regarding a forged prescription. The customer allegedly presenting the forged prescription, 24-year old Anthony Standifer of Glenwood, Illinois, was confronted by officers as he exited the store on Country Club Lane.

The driver of his ride, 25-year old James Hampton of Crete, Illinois, fled and left Standifer with officers in the parking lot.

The vehicle was stopped minutes later on Country Club and the report says police found forged checks and prescriptions, a computer, a printer and paper used to print forged checks inside.

Hampton, Standifer and the other two passengers—22-year old Iyana Green of Posen, Illinois and 24-year old Travie Mitchell of Mesa, Arizona—were all arrested and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument, possession of a forgery device and attempting to obtain a controlled substance by fraud.

Police say Green had also presented a forged prescription inside the pharmacy.

All four suspects were lodged in the Christian County Jail.
