Clarksville murder suspect arrested after pursuit on I-24

A suspect sought in a Clarksville homicide is lodged in the Christian County Jail following a pursuit that began on I-24 Monday night in western Kentucky.

A state trooper attempted to stop a car for speeding near the 29 mile-marker of I-24 in Marshall County about 8:15 p.m., according to a news release, which says the vehicle traveled through Marshall, Livingston and Lyon counties without stopping.

The driver took Exit 40 and collided with a pickup truck at the intersection.

No one was injured and the vehicle’s occupants fled on foot.

Two suspects were arrested within minutes and a third within an hour and a half.

KSP arrested 25-year old Marques Kelly of Clarksville, who was sought for his alleged role in the November 19th, 2018 shooting death of Antorious Gallion in Clarksville. Cedrick Stacker and Vincent Merriweather were already in custody for the crime.

Kelly and the other two occupants of the car—20-year old Dequantis Crouch and 26-year old Cemage Garrard of Clarksville—were all charged with fleeing or evading police, possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.

Garrard and Kelly are also charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and Garrard is charged with trafficking in cocaine.
