A Vietnam veteran with no known surviving family will be laid to rest Friday morning at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
Graveside services for 76-year old Stephen Jefferson Shields of Hopkinsville will be 9 a.m. Friday, with Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
His obituary says Shields was a native of Lubbock, Texas and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
His survivors are listed as ‘this grateful nation.’
Members of the Fallen Saints Motorcycle Club will be among those escorting Private First Class Shields’ body from the funeral home to the cemetery.
