MLB Roundup: Reds, Cardinals & Braves lose

The Cincinnati Reds couldn’t solve Noah Syndergaard in a 1-0 loss to the New York Mets Thursday at Citi Field. Syndergaard threw a complete-game four hitter, striking out 10, and homered for the only run. The Reds host San Francisco in the first of a four game series tonight, with pregame at 5:40 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.

Elsewhere in the National League: Stephen Strasburg reached 1,500 strikeouts in fewer innings than any pitcher in major league history, and Washington beat St. Louis 2-1 after a long rain delay to salvage the finale of a four-game series. The Cardinals open a series at the Chicago Cubs today.

San Diego routed Atlanta 11-2 to earn a split of a four-game series. The Braves begin a 10 game road trip tonight in the first of a weekend series at the Miami Marlins.
