Flags to be at half-staff Monday in honor of fallen Fort Campbell soldier

Governor Matt Bevin has ordered flags at state office buildings in Kentucky to be at half-staff Monday in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier killed last month in Iraq.

As previously reported, 22-year old Specialist Ryan Dennis Riley of Richmond, Kentucky was killed in a non-combat-related incident in Iraq.

He was assigned to 2nd Battallion, 32nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

Funeral services for Specialist Riley will be held at 1 p.m. EDT on Monday at Richmond Church of Christ, with burial to follow with full military honors at Madison County Memorial Gardens.

Governor Bevin encourages businesses and private citizens to join in the tribute to Specialist Riley by lowering flags on Monday.
