Former Trigg resident extradited from Philippines to face sexual abuse charges

Kentucky State Police have charged a former Trigg County resident with sexual abuse following a two year investigation and extradited him back to Kentucky from the Philippines.

According to a news release, KSP began an investigation of 39-year old Richard Baker in March 2017 after receiving information that he allegedly sexually abused a child under 12 years of age while he lived in Trigg County. During the start of the investigation, Baker began working overseas and the victim moved out of Kentucky.  An indictment warrant was issued for Baker’s arrest in 2018.

Working with United States Marshalls, Baker was located in the Philippines and detained in February of this year. He has since been extradited back to Kentucky and is lodged in the Christian County Jail.

He is charged with first-degree sodomy and promoting a minor in a sex performance.
