A three-year old boy was taken to the hospital after he was struck by a vehicle on Russellville Road Monday afternoon.
The child was playing in the front yard at 2750 Russellville Road at 2:50 p.m. when he darted into the roadway, according to a report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver of a westbound car, 19-year old Michele Beiners of Massachusetts, swerved into oncoming traffic but was unable to avoid striking the child.
The boy, who is autistic, was taken by EMS to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for arm and leg pain.
