Dog killed, two displaced by house fire

Two people were displaced and a dog was killed Sunday afternoon in a fire on Hillcrest Drive.

Three Hopkinsville Fire Department stations were dispatched to a fire at 814 Hillcrest about 5 p.m., according to Captain Michael Pendleton, who says the blaze appears to have started in a rear bedroom.

Approximately 25 percent of the home sustained fire damage and the entire structure had smoke damage.

The Red Cross is assisting the two displaced residents, who also lost their dog in the fire.
