The Hopkinsville Police Department hosted its first ever ‘Bark-B-Que’ Saturday at the dog park on Pardue Lane as an opportunity for city residents to get to know their animal control officers.
Officer Sarah Carson says the event featuring treats for humans and dogs was also an opportunity for the public to gather information from other entities.
Carson says educating citizens about laws, ordinances and best practices is a big part of her job.
Representatives from the Christian County Animal Shelter and local veterinarian offices were among those also on hand for the Bark-B-Que.
