Rotary Auction continues at 6 p.m. Friday, now ahead of last year’s pace

Only two nights are left in the 69th WHOP Rotary Radio Auction and totals are now running slightly ahead of last year’s pace.

Middle and high schools presented on their fundraising efforts last night and all schools in Christian County combined this year to raise $28,169.

Overall, the auction has brought in about $172,250 through four nights, which is about $350 ahead of last year’s pace.

The start time tonight is bumped up to 6 o’clock to give more time for items to be sold. The diner will again be open for lunch and they’ll be serving catfish tonight.

Auction Chair Trent Haddock says reaching their $300,000 goal will be highly dependent on cash donations to the hour and goat clubs.

All money raised helps fund the Rotary Scholars program and other initiatives for local youths. You can listen to the entire auction on Lite Rock 98.7 and online at lite987whop.com. You can watch on City TV or on the Rotary Club of Hopkinsville’s website.
