A Guthrie man was arrested Wednesday night for marijuana and gun charges.
Hopkinsville Police stopped 22-year old Kelvin Garrett of Guthrie for not using a turn signal at Durrett Avenue and Whitney Place about 7:30 p.m. and an arrest citation says there was a strong odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle.
He allegedly admitted there was 17-to-18 grams of marijuana in the car and officers located it with a scale inside a bag in the backseat. There was also a handgun loaded with restricted ammunition in the driver’s side door of the vehicle, according to the report.
Garrett was arrested and charged with firearm-enhanced trafficking in marijuana, using restricted ammunition during a felony and failure to use a turn signal.
