Unemployment was up from February to March in six of nine Pennyrile counties.
Christian County’s jobless rate was 5.1 percent in March, up from 4.9 percent in February, but down from 5.5 percent one year ago. That equated to 1,293 people who were looking for work and unable to find it.
Todd County had the region’s lowest unemployment rate at 4.1 percent, up from 4 percent in February and down from 4.5 percent in March of 2018.
In Trigg County, the jobless rate was 5.1 percent, up from 5 percent in February and down from 5.6 percent a year ago.
Livingston County had the highest unemployment rate at 6.5 percent.
