When the 69th WHOP Rotary Radio Auction resumes tonight, local elementary school students will report on their efforts to raise money for programs that could one day help them go to college.
Auction Chair Trent Haddock says those reports will begin at 7 and it’ll be the same routine tomorrow night for middle and high school students.
The auction has raised just under $95,000 through two nights, which is still about $1,300 off last year’s pace. 90 items sold last night for a total of about $12,000, the diner and sweet shop brought in about $3,300 and the Hour and Goat clubs had a big night with $7,300 in cash donations.
You can listen to the auction live on Lite Rock 98.7 and online at lite987whop.com and you can watch it on City TV, but Haddock says the best way to bid and support Rotary is by being at the War Memorial Building.
All money raised goes to the Rotary Scholars and student loans programs and to other initiatives for youth in Christian County.
