Rotary Auction continues Tuesday night, slightly behind last year’s pace

The WHOP Rotary Radio Auction continues tonight and you can help raise money in several ways.

The auction has raised just over $71,000 after one night, which is about $1,300 behind last year’s pace. A total of 83 items sold last night for about $6,200, compared to 102 items for about $8,000 on the first night last year.

Auction Chair Trent Haddock says they are still in need of auction items, but if you are a merchant or business without an item that would suit the auction, you can offer a sponsorship.

Cash donations to the Hour and Goat clubs are what will help the auction reach its $300,000 goal and those are running slightly ahead of the 2018 pace. Haddock says they’ve made it easy to donate on the local Rotary club’s website.

The diner opened last and Haddock says they begin serving lunch today and you can call in an order if you’re in a hurry.

The auction will resume at 7 p.m. on Lite Rock 98.7 and online at lite987whop.com. It can also be watched on City TV or on the Rotary Club of Hopkinsville’s website.
