Annual unemployment figures show the jobless rate fell from 2017 to 2018 in all nine Pennyrile counties.
Christian County’s 2018 unemployment rate was 5.2 percent, down from 6.2 percent in 2017. The jobless rate in Todd County was the lowest in the Pennyrile region at an even 4 percent, down from 4.2 percent the previous years.
Trigg County’s unemployment rate was 4.7 percent, down a full point from the 5.7 percent recorded in 2017.
Livingston County had the region’s highest jobless rate at 6.8 percent and Muhlenberg County was close behind at 6.7.
The state average was 4.3 percent and the national number was 3.9 percent.
