Students from Christian County High School and representatives from TGASK were out in force Monday morning to celebrate Earth Day and beautify Hopkinsville.
Around 30 participants got their hands in the dirt and planted flowers in planters all across downtown, with Hopkinsville Beautification Commission Director Heather Braun saying the students are always a tremendous help.
She says that Earth Day is all about honoring the planet we live on, and she encourages everyone to celebrate in their own way, whether that be by planting, recycling or just enjoying nature.
Braun says she was also glad for the beautiful weather, as the last few events have often been rainy or even icy, so Monday’s weather was very welcome. For more information about upcoming Beautification Commission events and volunteer opportunities call Braun at 270-498-1555.
