Man arrested on gun charges following traffic stop

A traffic stop on Fort Campbell Boulevard Wednesday night led to the arrest of a passenger for gun charges.

An officer stopped the automobile for not having its headlights illuminated at about 10:15 p.m. and an odor of marijuana was coming from the car, according to the report.

A K9 alerted and a search allegedly revealed a small amount of marijuana and a handgun under a seat occupied by 22-year old Anshawn Francis of Hopkinsville.

A computer check showed the gun had been reported stolen.

Francis was arrested for carrying a concealed deadly weapon and receiving a stolen firearm.
