The Michigan man accused of attacking a referee in Paducah at a basketball game April 6th was in court today. Kenyon Menifield is accused of assaulting referee Kenny Culp. WPSD-Paducah reports a number of high school officials were in court in McCracken County to show support for Culp, who is still hospitalized at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
The 40-year-old Menifield was arrested at the time of the incident and was charged with assault of a sports official. When investigators later learned Culp’s injuries were worse than first thought, Menifield was arrested when he made his court appearance today and was charged with 2nd degree assault with bond set at $15-thousand.
