Much-needed road-work is coming to KY 115 between Pembroke and Oak Grove, but it may cause some delays for motorists who travel that stretch of highway.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans daytime work zone lane restrictions along KY 115 in Christian County starting Monday.
Those restrictions will be between I 24 and US 41 in Pembroke and they are to allow base repair work to prepare for maintenance patching at a later date.
The Christian County highway maintenance crew will be digging out and repacking areas in need of repair along this eight mile section of KY 115 over the next 2 months.
Officials say motorists should be aware that some delays are possible during the movement and positioning of equipment to facilitate the repairs. Once the base areas are repacked, traffic will be allowed to run on them for about a week or more to allow them to settle before they are paved over.
Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers during daylight hours. They should also use appropriate caution where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
The crew anticipates working at various locations in that area during daylight hours anytime weather allows over about the next two months until the base repairs are completed.
