Former daycare employee indicted for criminal abuse

A former daycare worker was indicted by a Christian County Grand Jury Friday on charges of criminal abuse and wanton endangerment.

The indictment for second-degree criminal child abuse and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment against Allison Simpson alleges that in January, she “subjected a 10 month old baby in her care to cruel confinement and punishment and wantonly engaged in conduct toward another baby, 8 months old, which created a substantial danger of serious physical injury to both babies.”

Simpson was working at First United Methodist Church as a daycare employee at the time of the incidents. The alleged abuse committed by Simpson was captured on video surveillance.

Indicted for second-degree assault is 38-year old Tiffany Gray of Hopkinsville, who allegedly attacked her juvenile daughter with a baseball bat in February. The juvenile was treated for non-life threatening injuries on her arm.
