Russellville PD: Man broke into gas station, stole 300 packs of cigarettes

A Russellville man has been charged with third-degree burglary after he allegedly stole 300 packs of cigarettes from a Russellville business early Tuesday morning.

That’s according to the Russellville Police Department, which says officers responded to the Shell gas station located at the intersection of West Ninth Street and Nashville Street for an active alarm going off around 3:20 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers reportedly located 24-year old Alberto Martinez Agilar of Russellville standing by a broken window of the gas station and holding a full trash bag. Investigation determined that Agilar had allegedly busted out the window and then stole around 300 packs of cigarettes.

He was taken to Logan Memorial Hospital for treatment of cuts sustained from the broken window. He later arrested and charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree criminal mischief.
