Applications are due Tuesday for local teens wanting to be a Summer in the City intern in Hopkinsville.
The program is for local high school juniors and seniors and it goes from June 3rd through June 21st. The internship comes with $500, a letter of recommendation and valuable career experience in an office setting for those successfully completing the three-week program.
A news release says students are also offered the opportunity to experience various facets of city government while receiving valuable workplace readiness and other skills.
Applicants must be a high school junior or senior in Christian County at the time of selection and be 16 years old by June 1st.
Up to seven interns will be selected to participate, one at the Hopkinsville Police Department, two with the Hopkinsville Fire Department and four at city hall.
Applications be picked up at the Hopkinsville municipal center or downloaded on the City of Hopkinsville’s website.
