Catfish supper supports Senior Citizens Center

A good crowd made their way to the Christian County Senior Citizens Center Thursday afternoon to support its annual fish fry fundraiser and the many programs it helps fund throughout the year.

Individuals from several local clubs, organizations, agencies and elected offices volunteered their time to make the dinner fundraiser a success.

Retired Christian Fiscal Court Magistrate Jim Fleming has fried catfish at various fundraisers over the last 45 years and says the Senior Center puts the money to good use to enrich the lives of their patrons.

Fleming has volunteered his time in various ways at the Senior Center over the years, he drove a PACS bus for a few years and says volunteers are vital to making the center successful.

Several dozen people were already getting their plate when the supper began at 5 and the crowd continued to grow through the afternoon.
