The Cincinnati Reds hit five homers to snap an eight-game losing streak with a 14-0 mashing of the Miami Marlins at Great American Ball Park. Matt Kemp, Eugenio Suarez and Scott Schebler went back-to-back-to-back in the sixth inning. Jesse Winker and Kyle Farmer also homered for the Reds. Luis Castillo got the win with seven innings of two-hit ball. The teams play again this evening with pregame at 5:10 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.
Elsewhere in the National League: Yadier Molina drove in three runs and Paul Goldschmidt homered in the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers at Busch Stadium. Game three of the series is tonight.
Dansby Swanson hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning to bust things open as the Atlanta Braves rolled to a 7-1 win over the ColoradoRockies at Coors Field. The Braves have won seven of their last eight games. The series concludes this afternoon in Denver.
Following an off day, the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates resume their series tonight at Wrigley Field.
