Former Louisville coach Rick Pitino is making a push to become the new head coach at St. John’s. According to a New York Times report, Pitino indicated in a text message he would bring St. John’s back to the level it has not seen since Lou Carnasecca was head coach. ESPN reports current coach Chris Mullin is expected to step down. Pitino spent the winter coaching a professional team in Greece.
