Monday is Line Worker Appreciation Day across the United States and it’s a time to thank those who go out in bad weather to turn the lights back on for the rest of us.
Brent Gilkey with Pennyrile Electric says line workers leave their families at all hours of the day and night to respond when there’s a power outage.
He says much praise is deserved for local line workers who have continued to place safety first over the years.
Gilkey says it’s not only important to thank those line workers, but also their families, who sacrifice time with their loved one for the greater good of the community.
