Man charged with felony theft of vehicle

A Hopkinsville man is facing felony theft and other charges following a wreck and short foot pursuit Sunday at the intersection of Fort Campbell Boulevard and I-24.

According to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies responded to reports of a collision in that area around 2 a.m. only to discover no people in or around the two wrecked vehicles. Investigation determined that one of the vehicles had been reported stolen from a rental agency at the Nashville International Airport.

A short time later, deputies reportedly saw 42-year old Datorian Casewell of Hopkinsville in the northbound emergency lane of Fort Campbell Boulevard near Cavalcade Drive and when they attempted to make contact, he allegedly ran across a field.

Casewell was allegedly the driver of the stolen vehicle and reportedly never reported the accident.

He was arrested and charged with felony theft over $10,000 and leaving the scene of an accident.
