A story on MLB.com indicates there’s no time frame for Alex Wood to join the Cincinnati Reds pitching rotation. Wood stayed behind at the Reds complex in Goodyear, AZ when camp broke last week. He’s continued to throw after a sore lower back forced him to miss much of the spring. The hope was that Wood would be ready to come off the injured list in mid-April. It now appears that timeline is less likely, although Wood has not endured any setbacks lately.
