Christian County REAL ID rollout delayed

Rollout of the Kentucky REAL ID in Christian County has been delayed.

State officials had said Christian County residents would be able to apply for a REAL ID driver’s license during the first week of April, but Circuit Court Clerk Paige Parker says that won’t happen.

She hasn’t been given a new rollout date, but says the community will be notified through the media when that happens.

REAL ID’s will allow Kentuckians to become compliant with federal regulations regarding entry to military bases and commercial airlines. Residents can use their traditional driver’s license to board an airplane or to get on Fort Campbell until October of 2020.
