Investigation continues into Sunday morning shootings

Investigation continues by Hopkinsville Police into incidents early Sunday morning that left one man dead and another injured with a gunshot wound.

As previously reported, 39-year old Damion Lane was dropped off at the Jennie Stuart Medical Center emergency room a little before 4 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his lower back. He was treated for his injuries and released. Police say he has not been cooperative with the investigation.

Soon after, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of East Second Street, where 26-year old William McAllister was found lying in a yard deceased with gunshot wounds. An autopsy was scheduled to determine his exact cause of death.

Hopkinsville Police Captain Erik Pacheco says detectives are still working to determine if the two incidents are related.

He says anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Hopkinsville Police Department and they can remain completely anonymous.
