Child in stable condition at Vandy after being struck by SUV in Fairview

A six-year old Christian County boy was listed in stable condition at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital after he was struck by an SUV Sunday afternoon in Fairview.

Several families were congregating on the property in front of the Jefferson Davis State Historic Site when the boy ran from that area northbound across KY 115 and then tried to cross Jefferson Davis Highway near the Fairview Volunteer Fire Department, according to Christian County Sheriff’s Major Jason Newby.

The driver of an eastbound SUV didn’t have time to stop and struck the child.

He was transported by EMS to Vanderbilt with severe injuries.

The driver of the SUV was not injured. Names of those involved have not been released.
