A Clarksville police officer was taken to a Nashville hospital after wrecking while responding to a carjacking call Thursday night.
Officer Allen Greenman was responding to a carjacking in the 2000 block of Robin Road at about 11:30 p.m. with lights and siren when he attempted to initiate a pass on another vehicle on Fort Campbell Boulevard. That automobile started to move into Officer Greenman’s lane of travel, causing him to take evasive action to avoid contact.
His cruiser left the northbound lanes off the right side of the roadway near Fort Campbell Boulevard and Tobacco Road, striking obstacles before finally coming to rest in the grassy area.
Officer Greenman was flown by Life Flight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition. He has been with the Clarksville Police Department for a little over a year.
The victim of the carjacking was a female pizza delivery driver in her 20’s who went to a Robin Road address. Two men approached her from different directions when she arrived and one laced a blunt object to the back of her head and told her not to move.
The suspects took her pizza and drove away in her car, which was later discovered at apartments at 65 Durrett Drive. The investigation continues by Clarksville Police and anyone with information should call Clarksville Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS.
