Unemployment down from a year ago in all 9 Pennyrile counties

Unemployment was down last month in all nine Pennyrile counties compared to February of 2018.

Christian County’s February jobless rate was 4.9 percent, down from 5 percent in January and down from 5.4 percent one year ago. That equated to 1,213 people who were looking for work, but who were unable to find it.

Todd County still has the region’s lowest unemployment rate at 4 percent, up slightly from 3.9 percent in January and down from 4.4 percent a year ago.

The jobless rate in Trigg County came in last month at 5.1 percent, up from 4.9 percent in January and down from 5.7 percent in February of 2018.

Livingston County had the Pennyrile’s highest jobless rate at 7.3 percent.

The state’s jobless rate was 4.3 percent and the national number was 4.1 percent.
