Another 100 Fort Campbell soldiers will be returning home Thursday after being deployed several months to east Africa.
They are assigned to 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and a welcome home ceremony will be held in Hangar 3.
Post officials say the “Blue Spader” Soldiers were deployed to Djibouti since October of last year. They made up elements of the East African Response Force, which provides a combat-ready rapid deployment capability to support crises operations in the U.S. Africa Command Area of Responsibility.
