Mechanical issues prevented crews from completing stripe painting work in the work zone on the Pennryile Parkway in northern Christian County Tuesday, so they’ll be back at it again Wednesday.
Transportation Cabinet officials say expect to see the traffic paint crew back on the parkway between the 16 and 30 mile-markers by around 10 a.m. Wednesday.
While the crew will be moving, this activity will slow the flow of traffic along this restricted section. They will repaint the traffic stripes along the work zone in short segments, then pull off to let traffic pass.
Motorists should be alert for this painting crew and avoid driving through freshly sprayed paint.
Meanwhile, southbound traffic on the Pennyrile Parkway will be diverted off onto US 41 at the Mannington exit and allowed to re-enter at the MLK Bypass interchange in Hopkinsville beginning about 9 a.m. Thursday and lasting until about 1 p.m. to facilitate construction of a permanent barrier wall.
