KET to air debates leading up to May primary

Kentucky Educational Television has announced its schedule of debates leading up to the May primary election.

Candidates for auditor and treasurer will debate in a two-part series Monday, April 1st. Four Democrats are seeking the nomination to face incumbent Auditor Mike Harmon and two Democrats are facing off for the opportunity to unseat Treasurer Allison Ball in November.

Four Democrats and four Republicans are running for the open Secretary of State seat and will have the opportunity to debate on Monday, April 8th.

There’s a Republican primary for attorney general between Senator Wil Shroder and Louisville attorney Daniel Cameron and they’ll debate Monday, April 22nd on KET.

The Republican candidates for lieutenant governor will debate Monday, April 22nd and the Democrats a week later on April 29th.

Governor Matt Bevin will have the opportunity to debate his GOP challengers on Monday, May 6th. The following week the Democrats seeking the nomination are slated to appear.

Each debate will air at 7 p.m. on the scheduled nights on Kentucky Tonight, hosted by Renee Shaw. The programs will be also be streamed live on the KET website and archived to view at a later date.
