HHS student arrested for alleged school shooting threat

A Hopkinsville High School student was arrested Tuesday after allegedly making threats to carry out a school shooting.

He told other students on Monday to not return to Hopkinsville High School after spring break because he was going to shoot the school up, according to Hopkinsville Police, who say he then sent photos of himself with a rifle to students Tuesday.

The suspect did not attend school Tuesday and a search of his home in Oak Grove reportedly revealed the rifle, ammunition and body armor that he had easy access to.

The juvenile suspect was arrested at the home and charged with second-degree terroristic threatening.
