Two Hopkinsville men were injured in a three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Country Club Lane and Lafayette Road Friday afternoon.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, the collision occurred in the intersection around 2:40 p.m. Friday. A vehicle operated by 61-year old Susan Price of Hopkinsville was stopped on Country Club due to a red light and a vehicle driven by 45-year old Tony Harris of Hopkinsville was stopped behind her.
An approaching vehicle, driven by 19-year old Trevarius Daniel of Hopkinsville, failed to stop with traffic and struck the back of Harris’ vehicle. Daniel reportedly told officers he thought traffic was moving and he was unable to avoid a collision by the time he realized it wasn’t.
The collision sent Harris’ vehicle forward to strike Price’s vehicle, who was not injured. Daniel was also uninjured, but Harris and his passenger, 43-year old Donald Harris, were taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Two juveniles in the vehicle were checked out by EMS at the scene.
Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.
