Motorcyclist severely injured in Carter Road crash

A man was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville following a motorcycle crash on Carter Road near Ghost Bridge Friday night.

The wreck occurred around 8 p.m., according to Christian County Sheriff’s Sergeant Adam Vanderkolk, who says the male victim—who is a Fort Campbell soldier—was operating a motorcycle on Carter Road towards I-24 when he went off the road for an unknown reason.

The motorcycle struck the guardrail at Ghost Bridge and traveled another 75 feet before striking a tree. The victim was flown to Skyline Medical Center for what Sgt. Vanderkolk describes as life threatening injuries.

The name of the victim has not yet been released and the road was closed for several hours as the sheriff’s department investigated.
