A Princeton man was arrested by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department Wednesday after two pounds of methamphetamine was allegedly found in a vehicle he was driving.
According to a news release, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Brian Martinez of Princeton in the area of U.S. Highway 62 in Calvert City. When contact was made with Martinez, he allegedly admitted to having two pounds of meth in his possession and was delivering it to Marshall County for distribution. He was arrested and lodged in the Marshall County Jail and had been out on federal probation for trafficking in meth when the incident occurred.
The meth had a street value of $100,000.
Martinez is charged with trafficking in meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding 15 miles per hour over the speed limit.
This investigation is the result of a multi-jurisdictional investigation involving the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, McCracken County Sheriff’s Department, Kentucky State Police and the Drug Enforcement Agency.
