Robbery suspect connected to HPD officer shooting extradited

Three of the suspects charged in connection with the alleged robbery that led to the shooting of Officer Jeremy Davidson in February are now lodged in the Christian County Jail as one was extradited back to Kentucky Wednesday.

According to the Hopkinsville police report, 19-year old Anthony Johnson was lodged in the Christian County Jail after previously having been in the Montgomery County Jail. He is charged with first-degree robbery, fleeing or evading police and felony receiving stolen property.  Also in the local jail is Autumn Neblett and September Neblett, who are both charged with first-degree robbery and felony receiving stolen property.  Autumn Neblett is additionally charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The suspect who has not yet been extradited from Tennessee is Keith Kuzyk, who is charged with two counts of attempted murder, wanton endangerment, first-degree robbery and multiple other offenses.

A warrant says the four suspects went to the store about 1:30 a.m. and Kuzyk approached an SUV occupied by four individuals. He ordered the driver out at gunpoint and struck the driver with the weapon when he refused to exit.

Kuzyk ordered the passengers out and fired the handgun into the air. Police say Kuzyk and Johnson left in the stolen SUV and the Nebletts left in the pickup. The four suspects met up later in the morning and Johnson and September Neblett got in the SUV and Kuzyk and Autumn Neblett rode off in the pickup.

Officer Davidson located the pickup about an hour later on Canton Street and a pursuit ensued.

A Christian County sheriff’s deputy deployed spike strips on North Drive near Sanderson Drive and that’s where Kuzyk fired multiple rounds, striking Officer Davidson in the arm and head. The pickup was abandoned in the driveway of a Sanderson Drive residence.

Officer Davidson was treated and released from Skyline Medical Center and is recovering well.

Kuzyk allegedly stole another vehicle at the Hopkinsville Waffle House later in the morning and was arrested following a pursuit in Montgomery County and the other two suspects were also arrested in Montgomery County Monday.

Autumn Neblett was reportedly located hiding in a dugout at a University Heights Academy baseball field and was allegedly still in possession of the rifle used to shoot Officer Davidson.
