A Hopkinsville Police officer was injured while chasing a suspect on foot Tuesday afternoon and that suspect was eventually caught and arrested.
Sgt. Todd DeArmond says 37-year old Jeremy Michael Murphy of Hopkinsville fled on foot as officers tried to serve him with a warrant.
Police say Murphy had drugs on his person when he was arrested at a location on South Main Street. He was served with the warrant for failing to appear in court and was additionally charged with fleeing or evading police, trafficking in methamphetamine, tampering with evidence, public intoxication and other drug-related charges.
Officer Jamie Gapp collided with a vehicle in an alley near Alumni Drive and injured his leg and was treated and released from Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
