Several awards were presented Tuesday morning at the Christian County Salute to Agriculture Breakfast.
It’s hosted annually by the Christian County Agri-Business Association and the Christian County Chamber of Commerce. Kentucky Ag. Commissioner Ryan Quarles was the keynote speaker and said he often highlights Christian County across the state and he hopes the non-farming community recognizes Christian County’s place in state and national agriculture.
This year’s Friend of Agriculture Award was presented to Brandon Garnett, who remembered people who have inspired him, especially his late father.
Tracey Coleman of Coleman’s Tire Service received the Agri-Business of the Year Award and Randy Arnold was named Farmer of the Year.
The Distinguished Service Award was presented to Marty Lewis, who will soon retire from Natural Resources and Conservation Services.
Farm Credit Services had the high bid on the country ham, with $9,000 to go to the Christian County 4-H Livestock Club.
