Hopkinsville Community College has received confirmation that the college’s Associate Degree Registered Nurse graduates who tested in 2018 have achieved a first attempt 100% percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.
According to a news release, last year’s Practical Nursing testing group had a 100% percent first attempt pass rate on their exam. There were 45 ADRN and 18 PN students included in HCC’s 2018 testing group.
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing says 88.29 percent of U.S. nursing students pass the exam and 85.91 percent pass it on the first attempt.
HCC Director of Nursing Joyce Lambruno says, “HCC nursing students’ exam results for the 2018 testing group illustrates the strength and rigor of our program. Our nursing instructors push our students to ensure they are ready for the demands of the profession. We are so proud of our students’ accomplishments. Scoring above a national average is an impressive achievement.”
HCC accepts approximately 80 students in the RN program annually and 30-35 students in the PN program. The College’s nursing programs are approved by the Kentucky Board of Nursing and the RN program is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
