Two arrested on drug trafficking, gun charges

An investigation by the Christian County Sheriff’s Department Saturday night on Pembroke-Oak Grove Road led to the arrests of two people on drug trafficking charges.

Deputy Rick Burgess notes on a police report that he smelled an odor of marijuana coming from a location near the intersection of Pembroke-Oak Grove Road and Eddy Street. He and Deputy Andy Spann approached the residence that had an open door and 25-year old Marshanita Miller of Clarksville reportedly slammed it shut.

Miller was removed from the home and 22-year old Patrick Hunter of Oak Grove was found in a bathroom.

Deputies obtained a search warrant and the report says they located two AR-15 rifles, 16 grams of cocaine, marijuana, about 14 ounces of synthetic drugs, drug paraphernalia and four counterfeit 100 dollar bills. One of the guns had been reported stolen. There were also scales and packaging items consistent with sending the drugs through the mail, according to police.

Hunter allegedly tried to hand a neighbor outside a cigarette box and it was determined to contain a small bag of cocaine and a pain pill.

Hunter and Miller were arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in synthetic drugs, several drug possession charges, criminal possession of a forged instrument and receiving a stolen firearm.

Miller was additionally charged with tampering with evidence and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
