SEC Tournament: Kentucky and Tennessee win, meet today in semifinals

Kentucky advanced to the semifinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament with a 73-55 win over Alabama at Bridgestone Arena last night. Tyler Herro led the Wildcats with 20 points, with Reid Travis returning for the Wildcats after missing the last couple of weeks due to a knee injury. He scored eight points in 23 minutes of play as the Wildcats improved to 27-5 on the season.

The Wildcats face Tennessee in the second semifinal game this afternoon. The Volunteers eased by Mississippi State 83-76 in the late game last night. Admiral Schofield had 20 points followed by Grant Williams with 16 as Tennessee improved to 28-4 on the season.

The other quarterfinal games Friday saw 8th seed Florida stun top seed LSU 76-73 and 5th seed Auburn topped 4th seed South Carolina 73-54.

The semifinals begin at noon today with Florida facing Auburn, then Kentucky and Tennessee, with pregame coverage of the UK game beginning at 1 on Lite Rock 98.7 and lite987whop.com.
