Judge Tyler Gill one of three nominated for Supreme Court

Todd and Logan County Circuit Judge Tyler Gill is one of three judges nominated to replace the retired Justice Bill Cunningham on the Kentucky Supreme Court.

The Judicial Nominating Commission announced the nominations of Judge Gill, former Judge David Buckingham of Murray and Circuit Judge Carla Williams of Dixon.

Governor Matt Bevin has 60 days to make a nomination to fill the vacancy in District 1, which is made up of 24 western Kentucky counties.

Judge Gill has served as circuit judge since 1995 and served two years prior to that as district judge. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law.

Buckingham has served with the Adams Law Firm in Murray since 2011 and formerly served as Kentucky Court of Appeals judge and circuit and district judges in Calloway and Marshall counties.

Judge Williams has been circuit judge in Webster, Union and Crittenden counties since 2004. She has been the chief regional circuit judge for the Purchase Region since Chief Justice John Minton appointed her in 2007. She was a district judge for the three counties from January 1990 through November 2004.
